The visitor centre is in the Regine Hildebrandt House, Wilhelmstraße 50, Berlin. Here, the visitors' service of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs welcomes citizens with an interest in politics, including classes of schoolchildren, clubs and groups from the constituencies of the members of the German Bundestag.
In informative talks with the members of staff, the visitors - about 300groups per year - can get to know the tasks and goals of the house, the structure and methods of working, but can also discuss topics such as the future of the welfare state or the pension scheme. We give information about the multi-faceted history of our ministry at the begin our information events.
Tours of the ministry are usually offered only on the Open House Day of the Federal Government in August. Our tour film provides an initial view of the ministry:
A 1:100 scale model of the ministry building in Berlin is set up, so that the entire building complex can be felt and thus experienced by sighted, visually impaired and blind people alike.
Registration:
Interested citizens can register for a guided tour of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Groups should consist of at least 15 and maximum 50 people. The ideal dates for a visit to the BMAS are during the weeks when the German Bundestag is not sitting in the winter months of December and January and during the parliamentary summer recess.
If you are particularly interested in a certain topic, please specify this topic when you register. The Visitors' Service staff can then make specific preparations and if necessary ask experts from the responsible directorate-general of the Ministry to join the tour.

A large number of the 300 groups of visitors each year accept the invitation by a member of the German Bundestag. In this case, registration is through the office of the respective member. The Federal Press Office is responsible for coordinating these groups and arranging dates.
